This Chow Yun Fat musical was inspired by many things.  The average person may not know it, but Mr. Chow was not only a comedic actor, but a singer as well.  John Woo, the director whose works famously catapulted Mr. Chow into international stardom, has said his bullet "ballets" are like a dance.  In addition, has said he wished he could make a musical some day.  This dream has yet to be materialized.  Fortunately for him and myself, we needn't dream no more. It's very fitting to have Chow Yun Fat sing New York, New York.  He's starred in many movies that take place in the city.  These include Autumn's Tale, Better Tomorrow II, The Corruptor, to just name a few.  From Hong Kong to New York, China to America, this doesn't just happen in film, but in his career as well.  What's with the blue eyes?  Hopefully, this can be a piece that'd ironically make ol' "blue eyes" Sinatra proud.  Consider this as well: in Memoirs of a Geisha, Zhang Ziyi played a character with controversal blue eyes.  Zhang Ziyi costarred with Chow Yun Fat in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.  Memoirs of a Geisha was directed by Rob Marshall.  What was his previous film?  Chicago... a musical.
